Summer is the time of year for sultry evenings on the beach with a stunning lady or tanned muscular god. Dancing cheek to cheek in a club trying to move just as smooth as in the video of Lambada, or thinking you’re Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing. Unfortunately most of us lack the talent, but what remains is the memory.
In that memory for most of us each summer has a hit. May it be The Twist by Chubby Checker, In The Summertime by Mungo Jerry, Una Paloma Blanca by George Baker, Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham!, or more recent hits like Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega and Despacito by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee. We all dream away at the thought of that one evening at that special place. Maybe even with the, at least in that moment, love of your life.
Lucky for us, each summer we are treated to radio stations devoting airtime to the ultimate summer hits list, or shows interact with listeners asking them for their all time favorite hit. Online there even entire digital radio stations devoted to catchy summer tunes with recognisable hooks and, most of the times, iconic dance moves. Who doesn’t remember Las Ketchup or Los del Rio?
But what, this is pure fiction (I assume), if you have no idea what to play? Then there always is Spotify to help you out. And luckily OmniPlayer can help you with that, as we told you before. You can have your dj software integrated with Spotify and access it from a window directly within the OmniPlayer screen. There is no need to move to another application or device to make use of Spotify’s features and incorporate tracks in your broadcast.
So there you have it. Enough ideas on how to create your perfect summer hits broadcast. No go out there, enjoy the summer and create new memories.
Are you curious about how you can take advantage of the flexibility that OmniPlayer has to offer your radio station? Then we look forward to giving you a live demo when you visit our stand at the IBC2019 show in Amsterdam (13-17 September). You don't want to wait that long and would like to take action right away? Feel free to contact us directly.
